District Administration, Mandi honored with “Civil Service Award” by the State Government for Initiatives to Establish “Divyam App” and “Apna Pustakalaya”
With the objective of empowering good governance by making field inspections digital, transparent, and effective, the District Administration, Mandi has conceptualized the ‘Divyam App.’ Through the use of a centralized dashboard, district officials have been enabled to monitor field activities without any physical delays.
Evidence-based digital records have eliminated the possibility of manipulation, thereby enhancing authenticity. As a result of improved inspection quality and reduced delays in reporting facilitated by this app, significant improvements have been observed across sectors such as education, nutrition, women and child welfare, mining, and public distribution services.
The District Administration, Mandi has also successfully realized the Himachal Pradesh Government’s ‘Apna Pustakalaya‘ (Our Library) initiative. The objective of this initiative is to provide students and youth with free and equitable access to quality books, digital learning resources, and dedicated spaces for self-study.
In addition to providing support for preparation for high-level competitive examinations, this project is actively fostering reading habits and promoting independent learning. In accordance with the Himachal Government’s budget announcement for the year 2024-25, and under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner of Mandi, libraries have been established across various sub-divisions of the district under the ‘Apna Pustakalaya’ initiative. Consequently, thousands of students have gained access to quality educational resources, digital tools, and secure self-study environments.
The District Administration, Mandi was honored with the ‘Civil Service Award’ by the State Government on April 15, 2026—on the occasion of ‘Himachal Day’—in recognition of its initiatives in establishing the ‘Divyam App’ and ‘Apna Pustakalaya.’
